How to Hang Mosquito Netting

How to Hang Mosquito Netting

Often we get the question how do I close in a porch or other area with mosquito netting? As with all problems you have to look at the situation. If you are enclosing a porch or gazebo you want to look at the size of the opening (the height of the opening would be another way to say it) and get netting that minimizes the amount of sewing involved http://www.vtarmynavy.com/mosquito_netting.htm. Wooden structures are like porches and gazebos are relative easy to hang the netting in you can screw slats to the top of the opening so that you can take them out in the winter months and either let it hang down with weights or fix the bottom. Velcro of the sew on or sticky back variety work well for fixing opening on awnings or tents. Unfortunately the sticky back Velcro does not hold up well in the high heat. Magnets have worked well on vehicle and boat openings. Another way to fix netting around an opening that is hard to fix to is to use a bungee around the bottom that can be tightened.  Got another innovative way of hanging net add it to the bottom of this blog!
