Like the one that we currently have running there are always customers who love you and hate you. But more importantly there are questions about products or policy's that confuse folks. I would like to take a chance to address some of those policies found on our help desk area:
First we have our policy on shipping to a different address from your billing:
"We no longer allow different billing and shipping addresses --we will cancel the order. We understand this may be an inconvenience in some cases; however it is necessary to help prevent against credit card fraud and also to prevent hackers from obtaining your number.
If the billing/shipping address does not match that which is on file with the financial institution or if authorization is not given for any reason, we reserve the right to cancel the order without notification. We cannot work out credit card problems with your financial institution; you must settle problems with them and reorder once the problem is resolved."
The reason for this is your credit card company requires that your shipping and billing address is the same. The moment we deviate from that we are at risk from losses from fraud and you are at risk from identity theft.
One big exception is shipping to APO addresses. We do not flag orders going to APO's we understand most service men and women do no change the billing address to their APO address. We are here for you. But any activity that is outside of good credit card practices must be approved by the management here before the order goes forward.
Second we have our policy concerning Purchase Orders. We accept purchase orders from municipalities, states and the federal government only and only with a valid purchase order. We also have a $50.00 minimum on purchase orders. Barre Army Navy Store is a small business with a staff of 4 full timers. We do not have time for small purchase orders.
We also do not accept Purchase Orders from private companies. For obvious reasons we do not have a credit verification section of the company.
