Barre Army Navy Store has a new feature Backorder Notification the bottom line is that if you do not want to order a back ordered item and want notification when the status of the item is changed from back-ordered to normal then you get an email notification below is the Nexternal's explanation:
The In Stock Notification (Backordered) option controls whether or not customers in the Online Store can request e-mail notification when a Backordered product or SKU becomes available. If this option is on, customers may click a link (as specified by the In Stock Notification Label at Layout/General Layout/Labels in the Order Management System) on the Product List and Detail screens in the Online Store for products and SKUs that are Backordered. Clicking the link creates a popup window into which the customer may enter his/her First Name, Last Name, and E-Mail Address. The customer will then automatically receive e-mail notification when the product or SKU's Status changes to Normal.
If In Stock Notifications are in use, you may determine at a glance which products have customers awaiting notification via one of the crowd icons ( or depending on the number of customers waiting) on the Product List and Detail screens; positioning the mouse pointer over the icon shows the number of customers awaiting notification (by SKU, if applicable). Additionally, you may export In Stock Notification data to Excel or Access at Products/Export.
