Is the Army switching to Multicam?

Is the army switching to
Multicam?

Does anyone have a good reference?

Searches that I do appear to be appear to be pure speculation at this point.

What do we know we know that some small units like the Ranger Battalions and units in
Afghanistan have been ordering Multicam Clothing and Multicam Equipment for some time. However a mass movement into Multicam will change the camouflage landscape once again. Expect large scale shortages of multicam and an extreme glut of ACU Clothing and ACU equipment.

Multicam and ACU were being considered for a new Army Uniform earlier in the decade. Our understanding was the deciding
factor was the cost of the trade marked Multicam material from Crye Precision versus
ACU or Army Digital Camouflage which free was the deciding factor in the Army's anywhere any place camo pattern.

Multicam is a large blotchy pattern which to us looks more like a take off off German and Austrian patterns of WW2 and after. The color of blotches of green and brown made to disrupt the shape of the item. Army Digital Camouflage is a digital pattern based more on green and grey sections. Both patterns are intended to be for anywhere in the World we'll let you decide.

In the mean time we are looking for hard evidence that the Army is making the switch or if you have comments on one pattern or the other or experiences you would like to share about the camouflage patterns email them to info@vtarmynavy.com or call 800-448-7965
